Program Costs: (covered by candidate) fall into
three basic categories:
- Fee or tuition programs - costs vary widely (e.g. $6,000-$17,000 for small student group programs with leaders that run for three months)
- Volunteer placements - costs for housing and food only (e.g. $600 per month for homestay and 3 meals/day while teaching at a school in Costa Rica)
- Placements that provide housing and food, or at least housing, in exchange for your labor* (e.g. national park work or helping on farms/ranches)
* Please bear in mind that Interim is not a job placement
service. If you need to earn money, your best bet is to work a job at
home and save for your Interim Gap Year.
Miscellaneous Costs: (covered by candidate)
Travel costs, health or travel insurance, and spending money should be factored into your budget.
